hummmmmm

finished one of the Hummingbirds this morning. i've been getting up earlier and attempting to get at least an hour of painting done before the ol' day job. its an adjustment as i'm usually up until 2-2:30am painting the night before. no complaints though, i love what i do.

since i titled my last posting mas y mas i had to post this. one of my favorite bands.

i was starting to get a bit concerned about too much negative space but as it develops i think it'll work. gives the imagery room to breathe and move around.

penciled in a new 36x36. i had to punch the contrast in photoshop so the lines would show. background is a real light "beigey color". how you like that for art speak.

finished last night. i think the blue helped balance out the contrast overall. the values of the bird and roots were a little too similar. plus, this blue is just a great color.
