Studio pic

I overlapped some images of our studio in photoshop this morning. Haha, it makes our studio look huuge! Unfortunately, it's not as big as it seems and is quite cramped with storage crap and our supplies everywhere. I'm not complaining though. There are people that have way less than us so I'm grateful for what we got. You can see the jellyfish painting has undergone changes since my last couple of postings. I love keeping the process open ended for chance and possibilities. Anyway, this is our studio.

so far. one of three

I've been a bit lazy with new posts. Anyway, here's what I have going at the moment amongst several others. There haven't been drastic changes in my work, but I find myself getting more involved mentally in the process. It's a funny contradiction of being more aware and at the same time letting go. I have learned that even if it's the "wrong color or mark" as long as it's made with confidence and conviction it will show. The marks we make are a reflection of us at that moment.

Jellyfish!

This is the progress of the top painting from my last post. There's definitely been some changes since then. I've always liked jellyfish but never thought of putting one in a painting until now. For some reason I've been looking them up online a lot. These beautiful creatures are simple and very mysterious.

In the studio

This is what's happening in the studio right now. I'm working on three 36x36 canvases. I really love this size. My landscapes are starting to take a direction that's more abstract. I am having a great time exploring the possibilities during the process. I am finally letting go of some mental baggage that has held me back from "just doing it". Funny as it seems, It can actually be a bitch doing so. I think many artists can agree. Anyway, this is where they are now. We'll see where they go.

oh yeah, the red on the bottom piece is more burnt sienna than red and the color is a bit washed out. whatever, you get the idea.........

Sunday

I've been a bit lazy with posting new stuff. Here's a sketch I did this morning of some awesome orange Tiger Lillies we have sitting on our coffee table.
